Oak Class
Welcome to Oaks class page.
Our class is full of year 1 and 2 pupils who are building on their knowledge, creativity and curiosity they developed in Reception and Year 1. Children in Oaks will still access continuous provision, meaning there is plenty of opportunity for teacher-led learning, as well as self-led learning activities with their peers, indoors and outdoors. This ensures that children continue to learn the social skills needed to work collaboratively, as well as developing independence skills. Alongside continuous provision we also provide enhanced provision where children are set rainbow challenges throughout the week linked to their learning.
Daily class life starts with a cheery welcome every morning at the door and a chance to check in with each other and then straight onto our morning tasks. Our morning is filled with Phonics/spelling, English, collective worship and maths. In the afternoon we start with our reading practise groups followed by a range of foundations subjects.
We always end the day with a story and time to reflect about our day and thank God for his courage and support in all we do.
Oak class is a place where children can make mistakes, try skills out and be curious!
Please check our page regularly for any class updates.
